When your project isn't a manufacturing fit
RFQ Services
Not every device that comes through Forge is a Ranfac manufacturing fit. When it isn't, Ranfac still delivers the design and feasibility work — and equips the customer to source production elsewhere on fair terms. We do not maintain a partner network and we do not recommend specific vendors.
Tier 1 — AI-generated RFQ
Free if Stage 2 paid · $1–3K standaloneForge produces an industry-grade Request for Quotation document from your Stage 2 Feasibility Sprint artifacts — or from a fresh intake if you're entering at this stage. The RFQ includes design specs, material requirements, regulatory class, expected volume, and the questions a vendor needs to answer to give you a serious quote.
You take the RFQ and shop it yourself. Ranfac's training advantage is decades of seeing what makes a good RFQ versus a bad one — the kind of detail that gets you serious quotes back instead of polite declines.
Tier 2 — Engineer-assisted sourcing
$5K Basic · $15K Standard · Custom hourlyA Ranfac engineer is assigned to manage the RFQ process for a defined scope — issuing RFQs to appropriate vendors, evaluating responses, and producing a comparison matrix that informs your sourcing decision.
What Ranfac does not do: recommend specific vendors. The goal is to equip you to choose confidently, not to substitute Ranfac's judgment for yours. We have no kickback arrangements, no preferred partners, no revenue share with downstream manufacturers.
Why we built it this way
Two more familiar models — a partner network or a vendor marketplace — both require Ranfac to either pick winners (which creates trust problems) or to act as a clearinghouse with quality liability we can't underwrite. RFQ Services is the third option: deliver the customer-empowering artifact, charge fairly for the engineering work, and stop there.
The hidden upside for Ranfac: every RFQ Forge generates is a market signal about which components and processes external customers are sourcing. Over time that informs internal make/buy decisions without compromising the customer-empowering principle.
